Never Alone

Trials and Tribulations

It’s not fun climbing mountains, walking in the valley, or walking on a dry and barren land. I am amazed how many stories I hear through our ministry and also the stories I read in the Old and New Testaments. It is obvious to me that when man rebelled, walked in pride, rebellious to God’s laws and walked without asking for wisdom and discernment, there were consequences to those choices. God will never over-ride a person’s will. I do believe that in my earthly flesh, I didn’t even ask of the Lord what direction to take. All the reasoning, cons and pros, yes or no’s, was me trying to take control.

Even in the midst of trials and tribulations, I would want God to take charge but I was too afraid to give up the reins. In His love and care for me, He let me drive based on my wisdom and not His. Can you relate?

His provision and His ways are so much higher than mine. What ends up happening is I learn valuable lessons both when I fail and when I succeed. God is there, He loves me and He desires a deep relationship with me. He never abandons me or leaves me alone. He is always pursuing me.

Today I know that, but the earlier years of sanctification were the times where fear, mistrust, anger, and pride would have to be given to Him (among others) so that He could heal my broken heart. There was a tremendous amount of grief and loss at times and it felt unbearable but as I give Him those areas, He heals me.

If you are hurting today, release your burden and give God your hurts. Know that God loves you and He is your Comforter.

John 16:33. “These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.” NKJV

James 1:2 “Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds.” ESV
