08 Nov LIFE ON THE ROCK
I don’t know about you but I am curious how trees can live and thrive on rocks. In all my travels, my eyes seem to focus on God’s creations everywhere and I find it so refreshing. We recently took a road trip from Colorado to Washington and back. As a passenger, I found myself looking out the windows and asking God to show me His designs. My eyes are drawn to these mysterious trees appearing high up in the sky.
Rocks are strong, magnificent, and beautiful. But when I see life on top of the rock, as shown in the photo above, I wonder how it survives and seemingly thrives. The trees are far from any water, as I can only assume, but there must be a vein reaching down to the bottom.
It’s similar to our lives. There are impossible hard places in our every day living that we have to overcome. There are places in our hearts that seem hard and shut off from any hope. There are barriers and boundaries that we have set up that block any type of refreshing and, therefore, we stop trusting God and others. I know I have!
My encouragement to you is to look for the water, the refreshing, the truth that you are not alone. Jesus says in His word, “The Lord is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer, my God, my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.”, Psalm 18:2 (ESV)
When life gets overwhelming, you can always reach for the One who is the way the truth and life!!
